2010 British Annapurna III Expedition
Objective: The unclimbed southeast ridge of Annapurna III (7555m)
Loaction: Annapurna Region, Nepalese Himalayas
Team: Jon Bracey (leader), Matt Helliker, and Nick Bullock.
Dates: 14 April – 30 May 2010
Summary:
“Every mountain has a line that defines it; this line becomes the goal for climbers. For Annapurna III this is the unclimbed 2300m southeast ridge”, Conrad Anker (one of the world’s most respected mountaineers)
Alpinist Magazine proposed this ridge as one of the greatest unclimbed objectives in the world. British climbers have had a long love affair with this mountain and no less than four expeditions have been to attempt the southeast ridge in the 1980’s.
Our team of three of Britain’s most talented, respected, and motivated alpinists will attempt this objective in the purest ‘alpine style’ with an integral minimal impact ethic.
